Description

Mugneret-Gibourg’s Ruchottes-Chambertin comes from a parcel purchased by Georges Mugneret in 1977, with Charles Rousseau’s help, following the sale of Domaine Thomas-Bossot. The vineyard lies at the mouth of the Combe de Lavaux, on thin, very stony soils with exposed rock. The wine’s profile interweaves woodland berries, forest floor and light spicy nuances. The palate is generous, supported by fine, silky tannins and a balance between richness and restraint. The character of the cru lends itself to gradual development in bottle, allowing its complexity to unfold over time.
