Description

The Crémant Chardonnay Berger, associated with the Schaefferstein site, is Domaine Neumeyer's varietal sparkling wine. The vines face between east and southeast on marl-limestone soils and are farmed organically. Hand harvesting precedes fermentation with indigenous yeasts; the base wine is made in stainless steel and kept on its fine lees. The secondary fermentation takes place in bottle, with a period of maturation developing the Crémant's character. The cuvée places Chardonnay and its origin at the centre of the family's work in the vineyards around Molsheim.
