Domaine Neumeyer's Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Bruderthal comes from the hills of Molsheim in Alsace. The vineyard occupies a southeast-facing amphitheatre on marl and Muschelkalk shell limestone. Bruderthal means valley of the brothers and recalls the Carthusian monks who owned vineyards in the area, known for its wines since the fourteenth century. The organic grapes are harvested by hand and fermented with indigenous yeasts; the wine rests on its fine lees in large oak vessels. The site's identity is expressed through breadth and a saline character.
