Description
Domaine Neumeyer's Pinot Gris Grand Cru Bruderthal comes from a southeast-facing amphitheatre on the hills of Molsheim. Its substratum of marl and Muschelkalk shell limestone is a distinguishing feature of this origin. The Bruderthal name recalls Carthusian monks, and the site's wine-growing tradition is documented from the fourteenth century. Hand harvesting of organic grapes precedes fermentation with indigenous yeasts and maturation on the fine lees in large oak vessels. Pinot Gris interprets a site that the estate associates with breadth and salinity.
