Description
Domaine Neumeyer's Riesling Pinsons comes from Finkenberg, an Avolsheim site whose name means hill of the finches. The vineyard occupies a moderate southeast-facing slope within a small valley, on marl and Muschelkalk shell limestone. The historic Finkenhof farm belonged to the Carthusian monks of Molsheim, and the site is documented from the seventeenth century. The organic grapes are harvested by hand; fermentation with indigenous yeasts and lees maturation take place in stainless steel. The cuvée therefore links Riesling to a specific origin in northern Alsace.
