Description

Olivier Leflaive's 2014 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru comes from Chardonnay in a single vineyard planted in 1972, on clay-limestone ground. Harvesting is by hand, and the grapes are gently pressed as soon as they arrive at the cellar. Maturation includes oak barrels and a blending period before bottling. The vintage's technical sheet describes a bouquet of vine flowers, candied citrus and toasted almond, supported by an elegant texture. Aromatic purity and finesse characterise this white wine from the lower section of the celebrated Montrachet hillside, with a poised and sustained palate.
