Description

Olivier Leflaive's 2020 Montrachet Grand Cru comes from Chardonnay in the Puligny-Montrachet sector, midway up the slope shared with Chassagne. Brown limestone soils drain water efficiently and include a distinctive marl component. Grapes are picked by hand and gently pressed before the wine undergoes extended maturation in oak barrels. The vintage's profile brings together white flowers, apple, ripe pear, spices and mineral impressions. The palate is intense and velvety, with precision and a pronounced persistence supporting the breadth of this substantial white Burgundy from one of the region's defining vineyard sites.
