Description

La Maltroie is the Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru in Maison Pierre-Henri Rougeot's selection, a négoce project established in 2017. Its grapes come from growers who share Rougeot's attention to fruit and vineyard origin. The climat lies beside the village on its southeastern side. For his Chardonnays, Pierre-Henri presses whole bunches before allowing the juice to ferment in barrel with indigenous yeasts. Maturation on the lees, without stirring during élevage, reflects a restrained cellar approach. This parcel-specific interpretation extends to Chassagne the work of a maison rooted in Meursault, keeping the chosen vineyard central to the wine's identity.
