La Montagne takes Pierre-Olivier Garcia’s work into the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, extending his exploration of Pinot Noir beyond the better-known village vineyards. It belongs to a small project established in Nuits-Saint-Georges in 2016, where each origin receives the same artisanal attention. For his reds, Garcia combines different grape preparations, including the slow hand-cutting of individual berries with their pedicels intact, to protect their integrity and aromatic precision. The approach grows from the relationship between vineyard work, biodiversity and cellar decisions. La Montagne forms part of that exploration as an expression of Burgundy’s higher ground.
