Description

Pierre Girardin’s Bâtard-Montrachet comes from the Chassagne side of the Grand Cru, from a parcel directly across the small road from Lafon’s Montrachet holding. Old Chardonnay vines form the heart of this cuvée. Fermentation relies on indigenous yeasts, and the wine is raised in large-format barrels before completing its development in stainless steel. Bottling without fining or filtration maintains the restrained approach in the cellar. Its precisely defined origin and choice of maturation vessels offer a view of one of the Côte de Beaune’s major white-wine terroirs.
