Ponsot’s Clos de la Roche Cuvée Vieilles Vignes brings together old-vine Pinot Noir from the original climat and the lower part of Clos des Monts-Luisants. Thin, clay-rich soils with limestone debris lie over Prémeaux and Comblanchien limestone. Grapes are harvested by hand and sorted in the vineyard, then destemmed and fermented in wooden vats using indigenous yeasts. Maturation takes place in previously used French oak barrels. The wine combines strength and elegance, with structure, balance and particularly silky tannins accompanying its potential to develop greater complexity over time.
