Description

Ponsot’s Clos des Monts-Luisants is a rare white Premier Cru from Morey-Saint-Denis made from Aligoté. The vineyard retains a substantial proportion of vines planted in 1911, alongside more recent plantings. The soils are thin and clay-rich, with limestone debris above a base of white oolite and Dijon-Corton limestone. Grapes are harvested and selected by hand, then pressed as whole bunches. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts begins in tank and continues in barrels; maturation uses previously seasoned French oak, with no new barrels entering the process.
