Robert Groffier's Les Hauts-Doix comes from an east-facing vineyard near Les Amoureuses, where old Pinot Noir vines grow in poor, limestone-rich soils. It is one of the finer expressions of the family's holdings in Chambolle-Musigny. The general profile recalls violet, rose and raspberry, with a silky texture that retains depth and tension. Oak maturation and the subsequent period in tank accompany an interpretation attentive to clarity of fruit. The Premier Cru's character emerges through the meeting of aromatic lift, delicate texture and a mineral dimension rooted in its vineyard origin.
