Domaine Rostaing's Côte Blonde comes from the named Côte-Rôtie site, where Syrah is accompanied by a small presence of Viognier. The ground, locally called arzel, is poor, mineral and free-draining, with mica and silica resulting from the slow breakdown of schist rock. The cuvée combines a firm structure with fine tannins, smoothness and persistence. Its general profile includes suggestions of tobacco, cinnamon and violet. Vineyard origin remains central to this interpretation, bringing together substance and detail in the expression of one of the appellation's historical sites.
