Description

Zind-Humbrecht’s Pinot Gris Rotenberg Vendange Tardive connects late-harvest winemaking with a hillside in Wintzenheim, on the western side of the Hengst hill. Oligocene limestone and marl form the soil, while its substantial iron content gives it the red colour reflected in the name Rotenberg. Elevation and exposure slow the ripening process. The estate associates this site with sustained acidity and conditions favourable to noble rot. Its identity rests on the meeting of Pinot Gris richness, slow maturation and the freshness that characterises this distinctive terroir.
