Domaines Schlumberger's Cuvée Christine is a Gewurztraminer Vendanges Tardives sourced exclusively from Grand Cru Kessler. The name honours Christine Schlumberger, who led the estate for almost twenty years. The grapes are hand picked when overripe, after the usual harvest period, and transported in small crates to preserve their condition. Slow pressing precedes the settling of the must and fermentation in large temperature-controlled foudres. The cuvée belongs to the Alsatian tradition of late-harvest wines, in which concentration and sweetness retain a connection with the grapes' natural freshness.
