Description

Domaines Schlumberger's Riesling Grand Cru Saering comes from a hillside north of Guebwiller facing east and southeast. The site, between 260 and 300 metres in elevation, extends towards the plain in a peninsula-like shape. Its soils combine marl, limestone and sandstone. Documented in 1250, Saering has had wines marketed under its own name since 1830. Hand harvesting precedes whole-grape pressing; fermentation in temperature-controlled foudres and eight months on the fine lees accompany an interpretation of Riesling that places particular emphasis on finesse.
