Description

Vogelsang Grosse Lage is Domäne Serrig’s dry Riesling from the Saar valley. The grapes come from Vogelsang, a single estate-owned vineyard of approximately twenty-five hectares on steep slate slopes facing south and southwest. The property occupies a former Prussian state wine estate in a cool setting that encourages an extended ripening period. Hand harvesting and gentle pressing are followed by spontaneous fermentation. Maturation on the lees in large wooden casks completes a process centred on the origin of the grapes and the expression of Riesling from this hillside in the Saar.
