Description

Ao Yun comes from northern Yunnan, along the Mekong valley at the foot of the Meili mountains. Its vineyards are spread across the villages of Adong, Xidang, Sinong and Shuori, at elevations between 2,200 and 2,600 metres. In this steep, remote landscape, Cabernet Sauvignon encounters conditions very different from those of more familiar wine regions. The work of local farming communities remains essential, and the harvest is carried out entirely by hand. The name, meaning flying above the clouds, evokes the surrounding peaks and captures the mountain identity of this Chinese red.
