Description

Ciabot Mentin is Domenico Clerico’s Barolo DOCG from the Ginestra geographical mention in Monforte d’Alba. First produced with the 1982 harvest, its name preserves the plot’s history: ciabot refers to a small building among the vines, while Mentin recalls the former owner. Nebbiolo grows with an eastern exposure between 390 and 420 metres above sea level, on soils belonging to the Sant’Agata Fossili marl formation. Sand, silt and clay form the soil, which is rich in active limestone, keeping the selection closely tied to its origin.
