Description

Canta la Perdiz comes from a single vineyard in La Aguilera, Ribera del Duero, where ungrafted vines dating back to the nineteenth century survive. The south-facing slope lies at around 900 metres above sea level on distinctive pale, sandy limestone arranged in horizontal layers. Tempranillo grows alongside other varieties historically present in the parcel, preserved through cuttings taken from neighbouring vines. Hand harvesting and whole-bunch fermentation with indigenous yeasts respect this mixed heritage. Ageing in French oak completes a cuvée whose identity is closely bound to the continuity of the vineyard.
