Description
Dominus comes from the historic Napanook vineyard in Yountville, at the foot of the Mayacamas in Napa Valley. Christian Moueix’s estate farms without irrigation, encouraging deep roots capable of drawing on water reserves in the ground. Cabernet Sauvignon is the core of a Bordeaux-style blend that includes Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Parcels are vinified separately, with bunch and berry sorting, gentle pumping-over and low-pressure pressing. Maturation takes place in French oak. The cuvée thus brings together the vineyard’s different components in a setting moderated by breezes from San Pablo Bay.
