Description

Fragore 2021 from Donnafugata is an Etna Rosso DOC Contrada Montelaguardia made predominantly from Nerello Mascalese. The grapes come from vineyards at about 730 m on the north slope of Mount Etna, grown on sandy volcanic soils; fermentation involves controlled-temperature maceration and the wine is aged roughly 12 months in barriques then at least 24 months in bottle. Ruby red in colour, it shows dark red berry aromas and blueberry, with spicy nuances, cocoa and tobacco notes, and firm, persistent tannins that reflect the cru's volcanic character.
