Description

Ben Ryé is Donnafugata’s Passito di Pantelleria DOC, made from Zibibbo on the volcanic Mediterranean island. Its name means son of the wind, recalling a constant feature of the local landscape. Bush-trained vines grow in hollows that help them withstand the wind, on terraces bordered by dry-stone walls. Grapes selected during an initial harvest dry naturally in the sun. The berries are then removed from their stems by hand and added during fermentation to must from the second harvest, contributing their concentrated aromatic character.
