Description
Bassermann-Jordan’s Chardonnay Tonneau 2022 centres on maturation in wood and work with the lees. Hand-picked and selected grapes are destemmed and given brief skin contact before pressing. The juice ferments spontaneously in five-hundred-litre barrels, followed by lees stirring and an extended period in wood. The wine has a creamy texture and full body, with notes of white flowers, vanilla and coconut. Its persistent finish retains a spicy element. This combination of texture and aromatic depth suits shellfish, white meats and mature cheeses, particularly dishes with a rich sauce.
