Description
Bassermann-Jordan’s Forster Jesuitengarten is a dry Riesling associated with a vineyard on the edge of Forst, beside Kirchenstück and Ungeheuer. Its name preserves the memory of land belonging to Neustadt’s former Jesuit monastery; the Jordan family purchased the vineyard in 1793. The estate farms a parcel in the original part of the site, using selective harvesting in several passes. Separate vinification of the different lots and subsequent time on the lees accompany this approach, centred on the particular identity of the place and its grapes.
