Description
Bassermann-Jordan’s 2024 Kirchenstück Riesling comes from a vineyard on the edge of Forst in the Palatinate, enclosed by walls and close to sandstone buildings. These surfaces store warmth during the day and release it at night. Hand-picked grapes are gently pressed; spontaneous fermentation takes place in a traditional Halbstück barrel, followed by time on the lees. The profile combines ripe peach, herbs and spices with a lightly smoky mineral element. The palate is structured, saline and persistent, with acidity supporting the fruit and the progression of aromas.
