Description

Bassermann-Jordan’s Pechstein Riesling comes from Forst, where the vineyard name refers to the dark volcanic stones found in the soil. Parcels are selectively harvested over several passes and handled separately. The juice ferments partly in wood and partly in stainless steel, then the wine remains on the lees until bottling. The 2024 vintage suggests flint, citrus and thyme alongside a smoky element. Concentration is balanced by acidity and tension, leading to a persistent, mineral-toned finish. Grilled fish and shellfish provide suitable partners for its structure and aromatic intensity.
