Description

Bassermann-Jordan’s Ungeheuer Riesling originates on the Haardt slopes west of Forst in the Palatinate. The vineyard name remembers Johann Adam Ungeheuer, a former Deidesheim official. Selective harvesting over several passes allows individual lots to be handled separately, using stainless steel and traditional Stückfass wooden casks. The wine remains on its lees until blending preparations. In 2024, its profile includes nashi pear, white peach and citrus peel, with suggestions of herbal tea. Lively acidity supports a taut, linear texture, making it suitable for grilled vegetables and dishes with a spicy element.
