Description

Bassermann-Jordan’s Forster Ziegler is a dry Riesling preserving the memory of a formerly independent vineyard that became part of Ungeheuer in 1971. In 2012, the estate decided to vinify it separately again and registered the name Ungeheuer–Ziegler. Comparisons with older bottles helped inform that decision: in the producer’s view, wines from the two origins had already shown distinct identities in the past. This label therefore restores a more specific reading of Forst’s vineyards, placing the connection between the site’s history and Riesling at the centre.
