Description

Bassermann-Jordan’s Riesling Brut Nature 2017 uses grapes from Deidesheim’s Kieselberg grown specifically for sparkling wine. Hand picking takes place early in the harvest, with the bunches transported to the cellar in small crates. Gentle pressing and settling precede fermentation in a Doppelstück wooden cask. Secondary fermentation in bottle is followed by extended time on the lees, with no dosage added. Green apple, pear and quince meet citrus and suggestions of brioche. Fine bubbles accompany acidity and mineral impressions, supporting a long, dry finish without a broad or heavy texture.
