Description

Dubreuil-Fontaine's Aloxe-Corton is a Pinot Noir from parcels on the flat land in the Les Cras, Les Boutières and Les Combes climats. The deep clay-limestone soil contains red clay. Grapes are hand-harvested, sorted and destemmed; vinification in temperature-controlled stainless steel precedes maturation in oak barrels. The bouquet suggests blackberry jam and raspberry. The palate shows structure, tannins and balance, with a mineral nuance on the finish. Suggested matches include lamb skewers, grilled beef, meat ragù and cheeses such as Cantal and Tomme for this village red.
