Description

Dubreuil-Fontaine's Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru comes from the En Charlemagne climat on the Pernand-Vergelesses side of the hill. Chardonnay parcels occupy the middle and lower slope, facing west, on clay-limestone soils dominated by limestone and white marl. Grapes are hand-harvested and sorted. Fermentation and maturation take place in oak, with malolactic fermentation completed. The wine shows notes of ripe peach, almond and citrus; the palate combines balanced oak, salinity and persistence. Suggested matches include lobster, langoustines and fish served with a creamy sauce or cooked in a pan.
