Description
Clos Berthet Rouge is Dubreuil-Fontaine's Pinot Noir monopole in Pernand-Vergelesses. The parcel lies halfway up the slope, facing southwest, on clay-limestone soils dominated by white marl. After hand harvesting and sorting, the grapes are destemmed and vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel, followed by maturation in oak. The bouquet combines red cherry, strawberry, raspberry and violet. The palate is rounded and supple, with volume and persistence. Meat lasagne, pork tenderloin, baked vegetables and Comté are suggested accompaniments for this red wine from the estate's exclusively owned vineyard.
