Description
Dubreuil-Fontaine's Pernand-Vergelesses Rouge is made from Pinot Noir grown mainly in the Pernand valley, with some grapes from the Premier Cru climat Les Fichots. The clay-limestone soils are deep and feature red clay. Hand harvesting and sorting precede destemming and vinification in temperature-controlled stainless steel. Maturation combines steel tanks and oak barrels. Black cherry and raspberry define the bouquet; the palate has light tannins, a rustic nuance and a juicy cherry finish. Suggested accompaniments include lamb skewers, tuna tataki and mushroom dishes for this village-level red wine.
