Description

Dubreuil-Fontaine's Pommard is a Pinot Noir from two parcels: one on the upper slope facing southwest, and another halfway up the hill facing east. The marly limestone soils include brown and red earth marked by iron oxide. Grapes are hand-harvested, sorted and destemmed; vinification in temperature-controlled stainless steel precedes oak maturation. Fig, plum and light floral notes define the nose, while black cherry and fairly supple tannins appear on the palate. Grilled beef, roast duck, tagine and couscous are suggested matches for this village-level Pommard.
