Description

Dubreuil-Fontaine's Volnay is a Pinot Noir from four east-facing parcels, some of which lie within Premier Cru land. The clay-limestone soils sit over a bed of marl. Grapes are hand-harvested, sorted and destemmed; vinification in temperature-controlled stainless steel precedes maturation in oak barrels. A deep ruby colour accompanies delicate cherry and redcurrant aromas. The palate shows a silky texture, a tannic presence and balance. Roast poultry, poultry served with sauce and other white meats are suggested food matches for this village wine from Volnay.
