Description

Dugat-Py's Charmes-Chambertin is made from Pinot Noir and traditionally includes fruit from a parcel in Mazoyères alongside Charmes itself. Its vineyards belong to the Grand Cru belt of Gevrey-Chambertin, where limestone stones and iron feature in the soils. The old vines are tended with organic preparations, while fermentation in the cellar relies on naturally occurring yeasts. The wine matures in oak and is bottled without filtration. It is intended for development in bottle, with aeration a useful consideration when opening it young, allowing this ageworthy red time to unfold.
