Description

Mazis-Chambertin explores the great slope of Gevrey just north of Clos de Bèze, where fissured bedrock allows vine roots to penetrate beneath the surface. Dugat-Py works historic Pinot Noir vines here with a vineyard regime based on organic preparations. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts, followed by maturation in oak and bottling without filtration. The ability to develop in bottle is central to this cuvée's identity. It is a Grand Cru to follow patiently over time, allowing appropriate aeration before serving bottles opened during their youth.
