Description

Rüncot is Elio Grasso’s Nebbiolo-based Barolo DOCG Riserva, first produced with the 1995 harvest. The vines face south and grow on medium-textured limestone soils with a clay component. They are trained to Guyot and harvested by hand. The wine belongs to the estate’s approach of vinifying individual vineyards separately while keeping each grape variety pure. In the cellar, the family allows the different stages the time needed for maturation and balance, followed by further rest in bottle, making patient handling part of its production philosophy.
