Description

Elio Sandri Perno Riserva belongs to the Cascina Disa project in Monforte d'Alba and is made entirely from Nebbiolo. Sandy soils over marl and mature vineyards provide its foundation. Winemaking follows a traditional approach, with destemming, fermentation using indigenous yeasts and submerged-cap maceration. Extended maturation in large Slavonian oak casks is followed by further rest in bottle, without fining or filtration. This interpretation of Barolo relies on time and continuity in vineyard work to express the character of the Perno geographical mention and the estate's patient approach to its wines.
