Description

Emidio Pepe's Pecorino joins Trebbiano and Montepulciano in the family's exploration of Abruzzese varieties. The grape is associated with the borderlands between Marche and Abruzzo and is interpreted in Torano Nuovo, where Adriatic influence meets air currents from Gran Sasso. Hand-harvested grapes are foot-trodden in wooden tubs, using a gentle action that avoids breaking the stems. The juice ferments spontaneously in small concrete tanks and the wine continues developing in bottle, without oak ageing. The estate emphasises its generous character within a broader pursuit of expression and longevity rooted in local grapes and traditional methods.
