Emidio Pepe's Trebbiano d'Abruzzo expresses the family's connection with Torano Nuovo, in the hillside landscape between the Adriatic and Gran Sasso. Manual harvesting is followed by foot-treading the white grapes in large wooden tubs, a gentle process designed to release juice without breaking the stems. Fermentation begins spontaneously in concrete, without selected yeasts, and the wine continues developing in bottle. The estate regards Trebbiano as a white capable of gaining authority over time. Its identity rests on the grape, the territory and the continuity of a hands-on method passed through the family's work.
