Description
Le Mont Benoît lies at the heart of Emmanuel Brochet's work in Villers-aux-Nœuds. The cuvée combines Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grown on the same hillside, where clay and silt cover chalk bedrock. Wines from different harvests are blended to express the site across changing seasons. A small vertical press is used, and fermentation relies on indigenous yeasts. Maturation in predominantly used barrels precedes tirage and bottle ageing on the lees. A low dosage completes a Champagne whose identity depends on the close connection between attentive vineyard work and precise, patient decisions in the cellar.
