Description

Halenberg GG is the dry Riesling through which Emrich-Schönleber interprets the vineyard of the same name in Monzingen, in the Nahe. The slope faces south and reaches gradients of seventy percent, with stony soil composed of blue slate and quartzite. These conditions accompany the development of small, aromatic berries. The site’s character includes a finely structured saline and mineral component, with suggestions of ripe grapefruit; spicy and herbal nuances can emerge with time. The cuvée focuses attention on origin and the relationship between Riesling, exposure and the rocky ground of the vineyard.
