Description

Eric Texier's Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge is made from old-vine Grenache in the Bois Sénéchaux site. The north-facing parcel has sand, gravel and the appellation's characteristic rounded stones. Vinification retains whole bunches and uses indigenous yeasts in open concrete tanks. Maturation continues in wood without racking, followed by bottling without fining or filtration. The profile combines fruit, spices and suggestions of garrigue, with fine tannins providing structure. This interpretation of the southern Rhône maintains a direct relationship with its vineyard and with a low-intervention cellar approach.
