Description
Il Punto 2022 is Famiglia Cotarella’s Sauvignon from Castiglione in Teverina. Its name recalls the Il Puntone vineyard, trained to Guyot on stony, partly volcanic soils. Hand-picked grapes are cooled before pressing, and the free-run juice ferments in stainless steel without subsequent malolactic fermentation. For this vintage, half the wine matures in barriques and half in steel for approximately six months. Exotic fruit, apricot and touches of rosemary weave through the bouquet. Softness contributed by the wood accompanies a direct palate, leading to a savoury, flavourful finish with a clearly defined character.
