Description

Mareneve originates at almost 1,200 metres in Contrada Nave, on Etna’s northwestern slope near Bronte. Its bush-trained vineyard brings together Carricante and Grecanico with Riesling, Gewürztraminer and Chenin Blanc, placing local grapes alongside varieties associated with cooler climates. Vinification and ageing on the lees take place in stainless steel, without malolactic fermentation. Rose, broom and citrus aromas mingle with suggestions of ash. Initial softness on the palate gives way to a more incisive progression of acidity and salinity. This is a mountain white with an unusual aromatic identity, closely connected to its elevated Etna setting.
