Description

Brendino 2019 belongs to Federico Staderini's Cuna project, devoted to Pinot Nero in the high hills of eastern Tuscany. It comes from a small vineyard of around three-tenths of a hectare, planted in 2007 on clay and limestone soils. Fermentation uses indigenous yeasts in large open vessels, followed by twenty months in used 228-litre barrels. The importer describes violet, balsamic nuances and spice in a wine focused on its place of origin. Organic farming and the use of seasoned wood support this distinctive interpretation of Pinot Nero from an unusually elevated Tuscan setting.
