Giulio Ferrari Riserva del Fondatore comes from pure Chardonnay grown in Maso Pianizza, a vineyard owned by the Lunelli family in the municipality of Trento. The vines lie between 500 and 600 metres with a southwestern exposure. Grape selection begins a process centred on extended lees maturation, traditionally lasting a decade. First produced in 1972, this Trentodoc explores the ability of mountain-grown Chardonnay to develop over time. Its identity therefore combines a precisely defined vineyard, the house’s research and an extended period of patient waiting in the cellar.
